  • Spine
  • Upper extremity
  • Low Back
  • Lower Extremity Issues

Acupuncture for Pain Relief

Acupuncture is widely used and recommended in the management of pain, regardless of its origin. I see many patients for pain management including pain due to sports injury. In most cases I see, the pain is reduced or completely eliminated during the first few treatments. Acupuncture is a therapy, however, and follow up visits are essential to provide permanent pain relief.

Here are common pain conditions which benefit from acupuncture treatment:

  • Chronic and Acute Pain
  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Sports Injuries
  • Low Back Pain
  • TMJ
  • Shoulder and Neck Pain
  • Tendonitis
  • Leg Pain
  • Hip Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Arthritis/ Fibromyalgia

Low Back

I incorporate fascial release techniques, cupping, gua sha, infrared therapy and topical liniments.  I address conditions in their acute, sub-acute and chronic phases, and prescribe postural assessment and corrective exercises to support your recovery.

Upper Extremity

I also teach Yin yoga at Invoke Wellness Center on Thursdays at 7 pm, which combines yoga and Chinese Medicine so you can find space and elasticity in your fascial tissue, which is often linked to the meridians.  Targeting the fascia through deep stretching and holds helps to activate the meridians and can complement your active practices.  Yin yoga also helps to facilitate all of the R’s that are good for you – restoration, relaxation, rejuvenation and rest.  Stay tuned for more on Yin yoga for your form.
